Jim Spinder - General Manager
Mr. Spinder has been with Atlantic Aero since 1999, serving as General Manager. He has overseen growth from 100 to over 150 employees as Atlantic Aero has grown in size through the continued development of turbine aircraft maintenance, engineering and parts manufacturing.
Mark Jordahl – Avionics Manager
When Mark came to Atlantic Aero, he had been an Avionics Repairman for over 20 years. He became manager of the department in 2001 and currently has several talented repairmen under him. Mark oversees all major avionics installs, component repairs and with over 30 years of experience, he is known in the industry for his troubleshooting capabilities. His personal interests include golf and fishing. Mark has also recently completed a full renovation to his 100-year-old house, which is located in a local historic town.
Michael Jarrell – Interior Department Manager
Michael Jarrell graduated locally in 1998 from Northwest Guilford High School. Shortly after graduation, he started working at TIMCO Aviation Services where he was given the opportunity to attend training for structures, sheet metal, composites and finishing. Atlantic Aero found him in 2003. He started as a craftsman in the interior department and his talent was quickly noticed. He quickly moved to lead, crew leader and is now the Manager of 18 employees with the capabilities to build from scratch, refurbish, design and modify complete interiors. Michael and his wife have 3 boys that play all sports depending on the season, fish and ride anything with wheels!
Sam Baker – Vice President Aircraft Sales
After a short term as an Industrial Engineer from Mississippi State, Sam started his aviation career over 40 years ago, with the United States Marine Corps. While serving in Viet Nam and reaching the rank of captain, he flew over 200 missions in the F-4 Phantom. He spent the next 22 years as an executive with Stevens Aviation, where Aircraft Sales was his primary love and focus. An ATP rated pilot, he has accumulated over 12,000 hours. He joined Atlantic Aero in 1993 as Vice President of Aircraft Sales, and has continued that endeavor since. His family, which includes seven Grand Kids keeps him busy along with a little golf and tennis. Sam looks at today’s aviation market as one of the best in 40 years.
Rich Gritter – Vice President of Engineering
Rich started at Atlantic Aero on January 1, 1993. His primary responsibilities are to manage special Engineering Projects. Rich has been in aviation for 32 years graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering from Georgia Tech in 1975. His Pilot skills include commercial, single and multi, type rated in Cessna Citation Jet, and is Instrument rated with over 5500 hours. Rich was the test pilot for the HondaJet on her maiden voyage December 3, 2003 and test flew her for several years after. He enjoys building and flying remote control aircraft with his son, collecting vintage motorcycles, mostly Honda’s and occasionally tries to improve his golf game.
Scott Stuart – Line Manager
Scott started on the Line on March 1998 and worked his way up to Line Manager in December of 2001. He leads a dedicated department of 3 customer service representatives and 14 line service technicians open to the public 24/7/365. Scott has been part of the Safety Committee since it was founded in 2001 and is always safety conscious. He oversees GSE, customer service and aircraft support 24/7/365. Scott loves to play softball, golf, do anything outdoors, build things and is an avid fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes!
