October, 2003 - Atlantic Aero, Inc. Announces STC for Bonanza Engine Conversion

Atlantic Aero announced Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) approval of the 550 Tuned Induction Engine Conversion for the Beechcraft Bonanza. The 550 T.I. engine installation uses the 550 cubic inch TCM IO-550-R engine with the new Hartzell “Super Scimitar” propeller which produces 310 horsepower at 2700 RPM. The engine incorporates a top mounted tuned induction system and cross flow cylinder head technology. This provides optimum distribution of cool air to all cylinders while using balanced injector nozzles for each cylinder. In additional to increased power and fuel efficiency, this conversion also provides a 2000-hour TBO. “With the advantages of reduced operating costs, increased horsepower, the ability to cruise faster, and climb stronger, this is a must for Bonanza owners.” stated Jim Spinder, President of Atlantic Aero.
