October, 2002 - Atlantic Aero Appoints Jim Spinder, President and Chief Operating Officer
Atlantic Aero, Inc. announced that Jim Spinder has been named President and Chief Operating Officer for
Atlantic Aero, Inc. and its sister companies Aero Modification & Consulting, LLC and Mid Atlantic
Freight, Inc. Mr. Spinder has been with Atlantic Aero for three years serving as Executive Vice
President and General Manager of the three companies. He has overseen growth from 100 to over 150 as the
companies have continued to develop turbine aircraft maintenance capabilities, engineering capabilities
and parts manufacturing capabilities.
Don Godwin, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Atlantic Aero Holdings, announced Mr. Spinder's
promotion and added, "We are very pleased to announce Jim Spinder's new role in our organizations. His
leadership and organization skills have had a measurable impact on our businesses in the time that he
has been here. Every element of our operations has improved and our place in the turbine engine
maintenance marketplace has significantly improved."
Mr. Spinder previously was with Standard Aero of Canada as the Executive Director of the Maryville,
Tennessee engine overhaul facility. That facility began business as Alliance Engines in 1994 where
Mr. Spinder served as the President. Standard Aero of Canada acquired Alliance Engines in 1997. Earlier
in his career, Mr. Spinder served as a Financial Analyst at Kimberly Clark before moving to a General
Manager's position at the company's KC Aviation subsidiary. Mr. Spinder holds a law degree and an MBA
in Finance. He is a graduate of Carthage College, John Marshall Law School and DePaul University.
